Please be aware that New Jersey pollution laws have become very strict.
The NJ law is-No one shall cause, suffer, allow or permit the engine of a diesel- or gas-powered motor vehicle to idle for more than three (3) consecutive minutes if the vehicle is not in motion.
1st offense: $100 each violation
Subsequent offenses: $200-$1,500
When do the Little Falls police enforce idling?
- During scheduled idling surveillance
- In response to citizen complaints
- If idling is identified during other field assignments
Please advise your visitors that Tulip Gardens takes this law very seriously and thank you for your vigilance and cooperation.
